Yesterday I ended up staying home with Will. We were getting gas at the full-service gas station, where there was a big ad for Camel cigarettes. Will, who is reading everything these days, asked me why the sign said "Camel." I explained that it was a brand of cigarettes, and I said, "And cigarettes are bad, and you will never, ever smoke them, right?"
And he said, "No, because they turn your lungs black, and then they fall out, and then you die."
So, there you go. Anti-smoking according to a five-year-old.

Oh, my aching head!
What the heck is up with my head? I've had a migraine, to some extent, since Monday morning. This truly sucks. I finally called the neurologist this morning, and he's calling in a prescription for some sort of steroid that I guess will knock this thing out of my head. I need to call Target to see if they got it.
Time to call Target.....

Semantic Web
So, it turns out that I really do have to learn more about the Semantic Web.
Crap.
More from the De Lange Conference will be on the DLTF blog.

Random thoughts
Oh, where to start?
Yesterday had a horrible migraine. Part hormonal, surely, but also part stress. I've decided to try the diet approach that I heard about on NPR last summer, so I'm going to go buy the guy's book today:
Heal Your Headache: The 1-2-3 Program for Taking Charge of Your Pain by David Buchholz
We'll see how it goes.
Now we're trying to figure out what to do with Will for the summer. I have to call the YWCA to see what they offer for the summer. The other options are UBCCC and Park School, the latter of which is a wonderful program but really, really expensive. Ugh.

Funny things Ethan has said recently
On December 16, upon leaving Chuck E. Cheese after two hours:
Ethan: "Mommy, what's going on with your face?"
Me: "Ethan, I can't even begin to answer that question."
The other night coming home from work/school:
E, upon drinking from his sippy cup: "Mommy, is this juice?"
Me: "No, you finished your juice, so I refilled it with water in my office."
E: "Well, I wanted ekshool juice."
Later that night, snuggling in Ethan's bed....
Me: "Ethan, I see your belly."
E: "Do you see my belly button? [pulling up his pajama top] There it is!"
Me: "Can I kiss it?"
E: "No, it's dangerous!"
Me: "Why?"
E: "Because there are bugs and monsters in it."
Ahhh.....
